1st and 2nd grade families:
Please join us with your student on August 28th from 5:30-6:30pm for our Meet and Greet/Open House. This will provide an opportunity for you and your child to go to their classroom, drop off/organize school supplies, and meet their teacher.
Don't forget:
• Your child's supplies (if you did not preorder)
• To stop by and meet all your child's special area teachers in their spaces
• Check out the PTA and more in the RED gym
• A Smile!
Kindergarten families:
Please join us with your kindergartener for an in-person Orientation & Meet and Greet on August 28th from 4:30-5:30pm.
There will be a short presentation in the classroom, time to drop off supplies, a chance to meet your child’s kindergarten teacher, and time to visit special area teachers! There will also be a school bus in the bus loop for your child to see and explore. Don’t forget to bring a smile and school supplies(if you did not preorder).
All kindergarten students will start school for a full first day on September 3rd (same first day as all other students!)
Note: Please leave siblings home during this time, as space is limited in classrooms. 1st & 2nd grade Meet and Greet will be from 5:30-6:30pm.

Starpoint is Accepting Applications for their Academic Wall of Fame & Sports Wall of Fame
The Starpoint Central School District is accepting nominations for the Dr. C. Douglas Whelan Academic Wall of Fame and the Sports Wall of Fame for the 2024-25 school year. Nominees for the Academic Wall of Fame and the Sports Wall of Fame should be graduates between the years of 1958-2014. Nomination information and applications can be downloaded from the school's website at www.starpointcsd.org under the Menu and scroll down to the Parents/Community and click on Alumni https://www.starpointcsd.org/page/alumni or by contacting Jane Wilson jwilson@starpointcsd.org or 716-210-2307 for more information. Nominations will be accepted until September 15, 2024 for the Academic Wall of Fame and Achievement and until October 15, 2024 for the Sports Wall of Fame.

Another wonderful day of learning with our Fricano teachers. Today they practiced teaching each step of the UFLI lesson with one another! Explicit and systematic practice of phonics skills with many opportunities to respond is essential for all of our students to find success!
Teachers like to learn too! Our Fricano teachers are on campus today, after their last day, to learn more about the Science of Reading and UFLI. We can’t wait to use this knowledge to support our students’ reading and writing next year!
We celebrated our 2nd graders today! Fiona and Mason won the Weygandt Awards and Hallie and Blake won the STA awards! Congratulations and good luck in 3rd grade to all our 2nd graders!
We had a great visit yesterday from our Bunny Bunch UPK students. We can't wait for them to join us next year as kindergarteners!

It's the Last Day of School for the 23-24 school year! Thank you for sharing your children with us each and every day. Looking back to our first day on September 5th, we love thinking about the growth, connection, and learning that happened this year. Have a wonderful summer everyone!
As a reminder, all schools are closed tomorrow, June 19th for Juneteenth. We will see you back on June 20th for a half day at Fricano!
