Marisa Sparacino and Maria Shields are Unified Coaches and Youth Activation Committee Advisors in the high school. Each year, we get a group of students and teachers together to participate in the Polar Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics New York.
Special Olympics New York provides inclusive opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities, who compete in Olympic-style coached sports. Special Olympics encourages these athletes to stay active for life and to achieve goals at local and international contests.
This year sparks the 18th Annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics NY in Buffalo, New York!! A group of Starpoint High School Unified athletes and YAC Members have chosen to take the plunge and help us raise money for Special Olympics. On Friday, December 6th, this group will travel to Woodlawn Beach where they will plunge into Lake Erie with a group of other local high school staff and students.
If you are interested in helping us reach our goal, please use the link below to donate directly to our team. Please reach out to Marisa or Maria with any other questions.

More pictures from Red Ribbon Week in High School!!

Wednesday, October 23, Starpoint High School kicked off Red Ribbon Week, a week long campaign that promotes positive choices, good character, and healthy lifestyles in schools across the nation. Red Ribbon Week helps young people become aware that their future is brighter if they stay drug-free. The S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) club encouraged students, administrators, faculty, and staff to "Wear Red Wednesday" and add their names to the “Pledge Wall of Fame” as simple ways to show support for making healthy choices and starting conversations about staying drug free. S.A.D.D. also hosted a “Hugs Not Drugs” Little Hug drinks and baked goods sale to raise money for Kids Escaping Drugs.

The annual Starpoint Turkey Trot is just around the corner. Race Day is Monday, November 25 (rain or shine). The Fricano and Regan Students will run in the morning. The Middle School students will run in the afternoon. More information will be coming home soon.

On behalf of the cast, crew, and production team we invite you to:
FREAKY FRIDAY!
Thursday November 7 & Friday November 8, 7:30 P.M.
Saturday November 9, 2:00 P.M.
At its core, Freaky Friday is a musical about compassion, understanding, and acceptance. It is full of humor and heart!😁💟
The SMS musical program strives to give students an educational experience in musical theater while emphasizing the importance of making a difference by positively contributing to our community. 🎭🎸🎶
Aligning with our vision, each year, part of our proceeds are donated to WNY Make a Wish. These funds go directly to support the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses. Recently, one of our 7th grade students was a wish recipient! His wish was to meet Josh Allen!🏈🌠
Thank you for your continued support!
We hope to see you at the show!
Love,
The cast, crew, and production team of FREAKY FRIDAY💫
