Results from the Lock In to Lock Out Cancer. On Tuesday, June 24 members of the Lock In committee delivered a check for $20,000 to our representatives at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Funds were raised from this year’s Locked-In to Lock-Out Cancer event and other various fundraisers. Our 13-year donation total is now $183,444.00! This wouldn’t be possible without the support of our students, administration, faculty, and community!

Our student cabinet was led by Jordan Duncan (chair), Caitlin Deney (vice chair), Madison Harris (treasurer), Alexandra Manns (secretary), and Lana Stroehlein (communications). They did a tremendous job carrying out a successful event and exceeding our fundraising goals! It's truly an honor to advise this club and work alongside these incredible students.

The Senior Class took a white water rafting trip to Letchworth State Park on Friday, 6/6 led by class officers Mrs. Sparacino and Ms. Regdos. The students had an absolute blast, and the rafting company and the restaurant they visited noted how respectful our seniors were.

Last week, Starpoint High School art students had the honor of learning from the Wajed family, a well known creative family of entrepreneurs in Buffalo NY. Edreys Wajed is known for his mural work around the city such as The Freedom Wall and currently has work in the AKG. Edreys and Alexa Wajed founded Eat Off Art together which is a program that helps the community create and heal through art as well as recognizes that people can make a living off of art! Emeka Wajed is a fashion designer and Eman Wajed co-founded Buffalo Fashion Runway. On this very special day that was funded through the profits of our Annual Art and Craft Fair, students got to create art inspired by music with Edreys, painted hoodies with Emeka, did linocut printmaking with Alexa, and learned about producing videos with Eman. This wonderful recap video was created by Eman to highlight the day. Thank you so much to the Wajed Family! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G0PN15z5qcVpRt9KmFrfgXhgl2o8rxI4/view?ts=68384b84

"Mini Musicians" aims to provide a first musical experience to children. Activities will be fun and will also use research based methods to improve musical IQ and aptitude. Caregivers must attend class with their child and will leave with many ideas about new ways to play with their children. If you have any questions visit this link https://www.starpointcsd.org/page/community-education to sign up by July 5th. More information can be found in the attached flyer. This class is open to anyone - not just Starpoint students. Nicole Carere, High School Chorus teacher
