Starpoint Students Inducted into National Technical Honor Society
Congratulations to our Starpoint students from the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center, who were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. Out of all the high school students in the United States, the National Technical Honor Society students who receive this honor comprise 1.6 percent of that population. For staff at the Orleans/BOCES centers, they represent the four pillars of the National Technical Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service and character.
The students were honored in front of their teachers, families and school district representatives. The students had to maintain an 89.5 grade average in their career and technical education programs and an 84.5 average at their high schools, have superior attendance, exemplary behavior, be a member in good standing with SkillsUSA and have a recommendation from a faculty member.
Congratulations go to:
Clayton Allen in the Animation, Film and Visual Effects program. He plans on attending SUNY Niagara after graduation to fulfill a career in Animation.
Naomi Cotter in the Allied Health program. She plans on going on to college to become a Registered Pediatric Nurse.
Angelise Pascual in the Allied Health program. After graduation she plans to go into a five year program to pursue a career in the Physical Assistant Program and specialize in Neuroscience.
Erica Smith in the Diesel Technology/Heavy Equipment program. She plans to attend Alfred State College after graduation for Heavy Equipment Operations.
Jonathan Spinks in the Emergency Medical Services program. He plans on entering the workforce as an EMT before going back to school to become a paramedic.
Lana Stroehlein in the Allied Health program. After graduation she plans to earn her BSN and become a registered nurse. Her ultimate goal is to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

A few added pictures from the previous post on the volleyball game

The Starpoint High School Locked-In to Lock-Out Cancer Club recently hosted their annual Senior vs. Junior Volleyball Tournament, where 60 students participated and raised $300 toward their 2026 donation to Roswell Park. This tradition began back in 2021 as a creative way to continue fundraising when their overnight event was paused, and it has since become a highly anticipated, high-energy event that highlights our students' commitment to giving back every year.

Class of 2026 Meat Raffle - November 21, 2025

From 7-8-1 last year to 19-0 Section VI Champions this season! Starpoint’s turnaround is fueled by commitment, chemistry, and the leadership of Grace Crissman. She highlights the mental game and the "gritty work" of teammates like her sister, Nora, as key to their success a Buffalo News article published today. What a story!
🗣️ Crissman: "Every time we step on the field, we give everything we have."

A few Middle School staff members are starting something new called Game Changers. The goals of the Game Changers program are to promote teamwork and the value of inclusion; to foster a sense of belonging; and to provide new opportunities for social interaction, leadership, and community involvement. Game Changers will join people with and without disabilities on the same team. Being a new program, we have no funds for t-shirts, equipment, or field trips.
We are holding a CHIPOTLE NIGHT to help us raise money for Game Changers on Monday, October 27, from 4:00-8:00pm. It will be held at 3030 Niagara Falls Blvd (AKA Chipotlane, across from Kohl's).
YOU MUST MENTION THIS FUNDRAISER for us to get credit!! If you place an order to be picked up between those hours it counts! The online ordering code is: W37KNCA. If you order in person you must show the flier (on your phone is fine) or at least mention this fundraiser for us to get credit.

The Math Honor Society held a food drive with the support of the Math Department. Students heard that the shelves were empty. We collected 15 boxes of food for the Pendleton Food Pantry. Students intend to do another drive during the second semester.
