On Friday, January 22, 2021, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Inc., (NYSPHSAA) announced that high-risk sports have been authorized by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to begin practice and competition on February 1, 2021 if permitted by local health authorities.
At this time, we are still awaiting approval from the Niagara County Department of Health to begin high-risk winter sports.

Effective today as per our school doctor and NYSPHSAA, we are requiring the new White form with COVID-19 questions to be completed for our Winter Sports athletes. Please see the attached link and send the form in to our school nurse.

Low and Moderate Risk Sports Move to January
The Executive Committee of Section VI has voted to postpone the start date for the winter season’s low
and moderate risk sports to January 4. In today’s morning session the committee paused boys & girls
bowling, rifle, indoor track, boys swim and skiing from the previously chosen date of December 14.Please Note----Registration is open in Family ID for low/moderate risk winter sports (see the 11/16 update) and get your health forms to the nurses offices for the low/moderate risk winter sports only at this time--Your child(ren) will not be able to tryout without both of these requirements being met.

Good afternoon!
I would like to provide you with an update regarding the start of winter sports. Last week Section VI voted and approved delaying the start of low/moderate risk sports from 11/30/20 to 12/14/20. Therefore, Boys and Girls Indoor Track, Boys and Girls Bowling, Boys Swimming and Modified Boys/Girls Swimming will not begin practice until Monday, 12/14/20. The targeted start date for Boys and Girls Basketball, Competitive Cheerleading, Boys and Girls Ice Hockey and Wrestling remains Monday, 1/4/21. I will continue to update you as more information becomes available.
As a reminder, you must have your child(ren) registered through FamilyID, along with having all of the necessary health forms submitted to the nurse's office prior to the start of practices. Your child(ren) will not be able to tryout without both of these requirements being met.

Starpoint also participates in Unified Basketball, Unified Bowling and new for 2019-2020, Unified Volleyball.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include our high school gym, which can facilitate basketball, volleyball, and wrestling, and allows for spectator and game space with a capacity of 1,600. We also have our middle school gym and swimming pool for contests. Outside, we have a football turf stadium which includes an eight lane all-weather track with steeple chase, three baseball diamonds, three softball diamonds, four soccer fields, two field hockey fields, a practice football field, and six tennis courts.
