• Starpoint High School, 4363 Mapleton Road, Lockport, New York 14094, serves approximately 820 students in grades 9-12, with a faculty of 61 teachers. This state-of-the-art facility covers an area of more than 220,000 square feet, houses 65 classrooms, nine computer labs, eight science labs, and a high-tech auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,143. A proud feature is the courtyard named after Nobel prize winner, Dr. Herbert Hauptman, whose work in understanding the basic atomic structures of ourselves and the universe inspired the construction and display of crystal structures in the Hauptman Crystal Garden. (See photo.) In addition, Dr. Hauptman donated a stained glass model of a dodecahedron which he constructed himself.

Students can enjoy a variety of extracurricular activities supervised by experienced advisors.  Important information regarding our attendance policy, academic assistance, and other related items may be found in our newsletter. Teachers are available for academic assistance during tenth period (2:29-3:10 p.m.) and maintain specific office hours. Members of the faculty may be accessed through our staff directory.

The student handbook covers a wide range of issues affecting our students and the school's profile (attachment at the bottom of webpage) offers additional information and data.

Starpoint's commitment to excellence is reflected in the strenuous curriculum employed to meet or exceed New York State Standards recently set by the New York State Board of Regents. We offer a variety of Advanced Placement courses for college credit. Starpoint also has a unique agreement with the math department at the State University of New York at Buffalo:  advanced students can earn as much as twenty-four college credits in a math major by the end of their senior year in high school.
