Dear Starpoint Residents:

    The District was notified on Friday, May 29th that our absentee ballot packets had not yet been mailed out by NTS, the company that was hired to do the printing and mailing.  Ballots were originally scheduled to be mailed to District residents on Tuesday, May 26th. 

    The District has been in contact with NTS throughout Friday night and Saturday morning.  As of 10 am, Saturday, May 30th, the District was informed by NTS that the ballot packets have been printed, are being prepped and will be mailed out on Monday, June 1st.   

    This means that District residents should receive their ballot package on either Tuesday, June 2nd or Wednesday, June 3rd.  Please remember that per executive order, ballots must be received by the District by 5pm on Tuesday June 9th.

    In order to ensure that resident’s ballots are turned in timely (The deadline is 5:00 PM on Tuesday June 9th, 2020), the District is encouraging residents to drop their ballots off at the school.  Please click the link below to view the instructions for dropping off your absentee ballot at the school.


    To check to see if you are a registered voter and will be receiving an absentee ballot packet, please click on this Am I Registered Link.  If you are not on this listing, please email or call me with your full name, full address including township and zip code and your date of birth and I will get a ballot packet out to you in the USPS mail.

    Pursuant to Executive Order 202.26, issued by Governor Cuomo on May 1, 2020, an adjourned public hearing for the qualified voters of the Starpoint Central School District on the 2020-2021 budget and expenditure of funds will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 commencing at 6:00 pm.  The adjourned public hearing will be conducted remotely, and instructions for viewing and participating remotely in the hearing will be posted on this page prior to June 1, 2020. 

    The annual school district vote will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, for the purpose of voting on a proposition concerning expenditures for the fiscal year 2020-2021, an election for the Board of Education members will be conducted at that same time. The election of four (4) members of the Board of Education shall be held to fill four (4) positions on the Board; three (3) seats each for three-year terms and one (1) seat for a two-year term commencing on July 1, 2020. Requirements to run for a seat this year have been revised for this year.  Those interested in getting on this year's ballot should contact the District Clerk by May 11, 2020 at dszpaicher@starpointcsd.org or by calling 716-210-2352 for further information. 

    Further, pursuant to Governor Cuomo's Executive Order 202.26, the budget vote and board member election, as mentioned above, will be conducted by absentee ballot only.  The District will mail absentee ballots to all registered voters in the District.  The absentee ballots must to returned by mail no later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 to the office of the District Clerk at 4363 Mapleton Road, Lockport, NY 14094. 

    Voters who do not receive an absentee ballot by Friday, May 29, 2020 should immediately contact the District Clerk, Dorothy Szpaicher,  via email at dszpaicher@starpointcsd.org or telephone at 716-210-2352 to request an absentee ballot.  Please provide me with thefull name, full address including township and zip code, date of birth and a contact phone number of anyone in the houshold who hasn't received an absentee ballot.
