Welcome to the kindergarten classroom of Julie Haylett and Maria Mills! We are having so much fun learning and playing in G-11. I hope you will find this website helpful in communicating with your child's teacher, as well as celebrating the learning process these children participate in every day. Happy surfing!

Classroom Mission Statement:

Learning is continuous and is always occurring in a student’s life. Our mission is to prepare your child for the future by providing an educational setting that consists of a safe and nurturing environment where knowledge is cherished, individual differences are accepted, and learning potential is maximized.

Some things that are important to Mrs. Haylett:

• Learning is FUN!

• Cooperative Learning: (students work together and learn from one another)

• Guided Reading: (small reading groups at student’s instructional level)
• Learning Centers: (addresses the need for movement and promotes independence)

• Differentiated Instruction: (Lessons will be designed to address individual students’ learning styles and to respect each student’s rate of learning.)
• On-going assessment: (to drive more individualized instruction, informal and formal assessments will be given often to gauge progress.
