Running for a Seat on the School Board

    The Starpoint Board of Education is comprised of nine members who are Starpoint School District residents.  This year's election for school board seats will take place on the Tuesday, May 19, 2020.  This is also the time when the public votes on the upcoming school year's budget. 
    For the 2020-21 school year, there will be a total of four board seats up for election.  The three highest vote getters will each be appointed to a 3-year term.  The person with the fourth highest vote count will be appointed to a 2-year term.  Incumbent board members whose terms are expiring are: Danielle Alex, Jeffrey Duncan, Shawn Riester and Kelley Swann.
    There are various procedures surrounding the process of running for a seat on the Starpoint CSD School Board.  If you are interested in running for a school board seat please read the informational material and documents below and contact the District Clerk/Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Mrs. Dorothy Szpaicher, at or by calling 716-210-2352 to request these documents be mailed to your home.  Or, you can stop by the office between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM to pick up the informational packet.  
    The deadline to submit the necessary paperwork to get onto the ballot and run for a school board seat is Monday April 20, 2020 at 5:00 pm.
