Running for a Seat on the School Board

    Have you ever considered running for the school board?  A school board member takes on one of the most important citizen responsibilities: overseeing the education of the community's youth.  Local school boards are always seeking men and women who find excitement and satisfaction in confronting tough challenges and working collegially to rise above them and help students in their communities succeed.
    The Starpoint Board of Education is comprised of nine members who must be Starpoint School District residents.  This year's election for school board seats will take place on the Tuesday, May 18, 2021.  In addition, the public votes on the upcoming school year's budget. 
    For the 2021-22 school year, there will be a total of three board seats up for election.  The three highest vote getters will each be appointed to a 3-year term.  Incumbent board members whose terms are expiring are: Gregory G. Brehm, Nicholas K. Kwasniak and Anthony C. Perez.
    There are various procedures surrounding the process of running for a seat on the Starpoint CSD School Board.  If you are interested in running for a school board seat please read the informational material and documents below and contact the District Clerk/Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Mrs. Dorothy Szpaicher, at or by calling 716-210-2352 to request these documents be mailed to your home.  Due to the pandemic, we Or, you can stop by the office between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM to pick up the informational packet.  
    The deadline to submit the necessary paperwork to get onto the ballot and run for a school board seat is Monday April 19, 2021 at 5:00 pm.
