Running for a Seat on the School Board

    The Starpoint Board of Education is comprised of nine members who are Starpoint School District residents.  This year's election for school board seats will take place on the Tuesday, May 21, 2019.  This is also the time when the public votes on the upcoming school year's budget.  For the 2019-20 school year, there will be a total of three board seats up for election.  Each seat has a 3-year term attached to it.  Incumbent board members whose terms are expiring are: Joseph Miller, Dennis Toth and Michael Zimmerman.
     
    There are various procedures surrounding the process of running for a seat on the Starpoint CSD School Board.  If you are interested in running for a school board seat please read the informational material and documents below and contact the District Clerk/Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Mrs. Dorothy Szpaicher, at dszpaicher@starpointcsd.org or by calling 716-210-2352 to request these documents be mailed to your home.  Or, you can stop by the office between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM to pick up the informational packet.  
     
    The deadline to submit the necessary paperwork to get onto the ballot and run for a school board seat is Monday April 22, 2019 at 5:00 pm.
     
    A workshop for prospective school board candidates will be held on Saturday, March 30th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, location TBD.  The workshop is sponsored by the Niagara Orleans Association of School Boards.
