ACADEMIC AND SPORTS WALL OF FAME

            In an effort to recognize Starpoint alumni who have made an impact on their communities, the administration has established an Academic Wall of Fame and Achievement and a Sports Wall of Fame.  These designations were created to promote school spirit, to foster pride in our school, and to serve as an incentive for current students.

DR. C. DOUGLAS WHELAN ACADEMIC WALL OF FAME AND ACHIEVEMENT

            The Starpoint community is invited to submit nominations of Starpoint alumni for the Academic Wall of Fame and Achievement who fulfill any one or more of the following criteria:

-          excellence in his or her chosen field

-          outstanding contributions to humanity

-          outstanding service to his/her community and/or profession, whether it is at the local, regional, or national level

For nominations for the school year 2022-23, nominees should be graduates between the years 1958-2007.

SPORTS WALL OF FAME 

The Starpoint Sports Wall of Fame is a special award given to individuals who, through skill and maximum effort, achieved outstanding results for Starpoint High School. Achievements to qualify for selection to the Starpoint Sports Wall of Fame are:

-          a graduate of Starpoint High School

-          presently an honorable community member in good standing

The following criteria will be considered when selecting candidates for the Sports Wall of Fame:

-          lettered in a varsity sport

-          received league, county, section, state, and/or national recognition

-          set school, league, section, state, or national record while in high school

-          in individual sports, earned a championship at a tournament, meet, or match

-          served as a captain or earned MVP honors

-          member of a championship team

Graduates are not considered for the Sports Wall of Fame for a minimum of five (5) years after graduation from Starpoint High School. The class to be inducted in 2022-2023 would have graduated between 1958-2010.

            Present and former members of the Starpoint community are invited to nominate graduates for these honors.
