#OneStarpoint

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

The above quote rings true when applied to many aspects of our lives.  Over the past several years we have made unprecedented strides in our district.  The catalyst for these positive changes was collaboration.  Collaboration among our teachers, by sharing resources and best instructional practices.  Collaboration between staff and administration by bringing new programs from an idea to reality.  Lastly, collaboration between our students, teachers, and community members all working together toward a common goal: improving student outcomes. 

The fruits of our collaboration were crystallized again in June of 2018 when Starpoint earned its highest Business First ranking ever: #5 of 96 school districts in Western New York.

Starpoint’s rise in the academic rankings has not gone unnoticed.  Business First ran an article highlighting Starpoint’s unprecedented momentum!! 

“This Niagara County school system has been on a mission in recent years, rising through the upper echelons of the district rankings. It returned to the Honor Roll in 2014 after a 16-year absence. It finished 13th that year, rose to eighth in 2015, and then climbed again to sixth in 2016.”

 Where do we go from here?  Our vision moving forward can be summed up with the tagline: #OneStarpoint.  It involves taking our level of collaboration to another level.  I envision seamless collaboration across all four of our buildings where administration, teachers, parents, and students support one another and focus on continuous improvement.  In addition, I foresee students at the high school and middle school working with younger students to prepare them for their future as well as members of the community visiting our school to share their expertise with our staff and students.  We look forward to partnering with you, our most valuable resource, to develop and fully realize the concept of #OneStarpoint in the coming years.  Thank you for your support and we wish everyone a wonderful, successful school year.
