NYS Water Testing

  • Dear Staff & Parents of the Starpoint Central School District,

As you may be aware, New York State recently passed a law and emergency regulation for school districts and BOCES to test potable water for lead contamination and to develop and implement a lead remediation plan, where applicable.

In accordance with this new law and regulation, the District is working with STOHL Environmental Consultants on the water testing requirements.  Water testing for grades K-5 (i.e., Fricano Primary and Regan Intermediate School) was completed prior to September 30, 2016 in compliance with NYS requirements. Testing at the 6-12 level (i.e., Starpoint Middle and High Schools) has also been completed.

We take the health and safety of students, staff and visitors very seriously and are committed to ensuring the water at all of the District’s buildings is safe.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Director of Facilities and Operations, David Ciurczak Jr. at (716) 210-2345 or dciurczak@starpointcsd.org.
