School Counselor

As educators who are specially trained in childhood and adolescent development, school counselors provide services to students, parents and teachers through a comprehensive, developmental model of guidance.

-          School counselors work in a program that collaborates with other support personnel such as, school social workers and school psychologists to ensure the success of all students. The school counselors provide services to all of the students at Starpoint School District. If your child receives specialized assistance and has been identified through the committee on special education; then our school social workers provide comprehensive services to insure success of your child.

-          School Counselors provide: Individual counseling, group counseling, classroom guidance programs and consultation to parents and teachers .

-          The school counselors adhere to the ASCA National Standards for Student Academic, Career and Personal/Social Development.

-          School Counselors are available to help you and your child with problems that may interfere with their academic performance.
