Who Is Mr. Tracy?
Once again Mr. Tracy has taken advantage of an opportunity to spend another year teaching in The Fitness Lab in the Regan Intermediate School.
Mr. Tracy has a BA in History and a MA in Elementary Education from SUNY at Buffalo. He taught one year in Las Vegas before returning to Western New York to join the Starpoint faculty in 1995.
Mr. Tracy spent 11 summers working at YMCA Camp Kenan. He held many positions there including Camp Director and Athletic Director.
Mr. Tracy has been a runner since high school and an avid triathlete for over 30 years. He has 9 ironman distance triathlon finishes to his record.
He has over 20 marathon finishes to his name including two Dopey Challenge finishes as a part of the Disney World Marathon Weekend. The Dopey Challenge consists of running four races in four days. They include a 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon. In 2001 he completed a 2,162 mile thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.
His other interests include snowboarding, SCUBA diving, biking to work, walking his dogs, camping, kayaking, photography and going to concerts.
He looks forward to sharing his love of a healthy and active lifestyle with the students of RIS. He plans to introduce a variety of fitness activities and to plant the seed for a life-long healthy lifestyle.
