Please stand by for a message from our principal, Dr. Gray:
Over the course of the last few years we as a school and a community have dealt with numerous challenges, some new, some old, but all have tested our strength. In the last few days, Western New York and our Nation have had to face another tragedy, driven by hate and amplified by the divisive times we find ourselves living in. In spite of these challenges, it is important that we as a school and a community stand together and not allow hate and violence to divide us. We must commit to creating a place that is welcoming for all, that values the stories of all, and is safe for all. This is only possible when we choose kindness over hate, peace over violence, and inclusion over exclusion. In our school this can be as simple as saying hello to someone, pausing and thinking before we say something hurtful or unkind, or welcoming someone new into a friend group. As we move forward, lean on one another, talk to your teachers, your counselor, administration, any trusted adult in the building, and remember that the responsibility for keeping our school and community safe rests with each of us.
