Sixth Annual Alumni Basketball Game

On Wednesday, March 13th, we held the 6th Annual Alumni Basketball Game in the high school gym.  16 Alumni attended allowing for two 8-player teams.  Never has the statement "The game was a story of two different halves" been so true.

Team White took a commanding 1st half lead (59-35), led by Amir Billups' ('08) 24 points including 6 three-pointers. 

At the half-time shooting contest, Nick Boron ('02) from the Red Team defeated Alex Rankie ('11) from the White Team by one basket.

The Red Team began a slow climb back in the 2nd half led by Mike Ridge ('06)-19 points, and Brad Matters ('04)-12 points.  The Reds came back to take an exciting 96-95 victory. 

Top scorers for the winners were Ridge with 32, and Shane Canahai ('07) with 21.  Other Red Team players were Shawn Latini ('97), Lou Penque ('95), Mike Scibilia ('06), and Cody Longwell ('11). 

Amir Billups lead all scorers with 39, followed by Matt Kroening ('11) with 14.  Other White Team members were Brendan Reinert('10), Mike Corbi ('07), Tyler Kroening ('10), Alex Rankie, Todd Conklin ('00), and Dom Scarpine ('11). 

A number of prize drawings were held and the former Spartans had a great time.
