Seventh Annual Alumni Basketball Game

After our first-ever snow postponement, the 7th annual alumni basketball game took place March 19th and it was as exciting as ever.

Both teams came out strong and were tied 42-42 at half.  Team White was led by Joe Scibilia ('09) who scored 12 first-half points; Team Garnet was led by Mike Ridge ('06) who dropped 17 in the first half.

At half-time, Amir Billups ('08) won the 3-point contest by defeating Andrew Rankie ('13) by sinking 9 of 15 shots and received the 3-point trophy.

The second half saw Team Garnet get as much as a ten point lead but Team White came back behind Billups, Scibilia, and Brad Matters ('04).  The comeback made for an exciting finish with Ridge, Rankie, and Mike Scibilia ('06) exchanging baskets with the White team right to the end to tie the game.  Team Garnet had possession last and with the final buzzer read to go, Mike Ridge put up a short jumper to give the Garnet team the victory 87-85.

Ridge finished with 29 points while teammates Andrew Rankie had 20, Mike Scibilia-13, and Lou Penque ('95)-12.  Dave Wollaber ('01) played outstanding defense recording 10 steals.  Team White was led by top scorer Amir Billups with 30, Joe Scibilia had 19, Brad Matters-16, and Nick Boron ('02) with 11 points.
