Dear Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Maria Mills and I will be your child's special education teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.  I am very excited to be a part of the Starpoint community and your child's education.  

My past teaching experiences include working with children with autism, emotional disturbance, and multiply disabled.  I have worked in both district and agency settings and in both integrated and self-contained classrooms.  My undergraduate degree is in both Elementary and Exceptional Education and my graduate degree is in Early Childhood Education.  Recently, I have completed a practicum course with Wilson Reading and am now a certified Wilson Reading Practioner:-)  

I live in Lockport with my husband Jim who also teaches at Starpoint, and our 19 year old twin daughters, Marina and Marissa....who are beginning their SECOND year in college!! I love spending time with my family and reading.  We enjoy family fun nights, sports, and swimming in the pool... but we really love going on VACATION!!!!  

I also coach the Starpoint JV Cheerleading Team which is so fun!!!

I can't wait to meet each student and family....I know it will be a great year!!!!
